Microsoft Teams Status - Desktop and Mobile

I have recently received Microsoft Teams access as part of my Office pack.

I noticed that with the mobile app logged in, the status is constantly showing "Available" even when i am not active.

This means anyone looking for me would believe that i am available.

Is there no way to set it to show as away or at least a separate status that states "mobile" when we are not active on the desktop App of teams?

It is highly annoying to have to amend the status manually.

This is definitely a Teams mac bug. Affecting several users at my company and Microsoft tells us it's a "machine specific" issue. Their tech support teams apparently can't get through to the developers that presence on the mac app is broken.

I have found that the best way to "clear it out" is to restart Teams every morning. That's the only thing that works but I have to do it every single day.

I have a vice-versa issue. I am showing Away as my mobile gets locked even though I am active on my desktop and worst part is manual change of status in desktop doesnt work. Only when I keep my phone active its showing available.

Updated the mobile and desktop Apps and issue remains

Hack that worked for me : Opened Teams in web on system and updated the status to available and it worked.

But @Microsoft need your help in fixing this issue.

This is exactly what we are experiencing too.

Microsoft claims that this is "machine-specific" (that's the terminology they are using to deflect blame onto us) and also has ceased working on our support ticket.

They simply refuse to take responsibility for it.

Guess the Tech team handling the issue earlier left the company and existing team didnt focus on KT during handover. I cant find enough reason to understand Microsoft unwillingness to fix the issue.
