Failed to Update Your Profile! Every time whenever trying to sign in!

Whenever I open the app they ask "How would you like to appear on Teams?" After continuing always getting failed to update... Missed so many meeting due to it and still no solution. Tried creating a new account but it's the same.

    Hi All - So I had the same problem. Error message popping up I went into the account info for my microsoft account - the one indicating alias and login preferences and I deleted my mobile number as a means of login. Then I went back into my account - checked that everything was updated and opened the desktop app - seems to have worked :)

    I also changed my profile picture - don't know if this makes a difference.

    Thanks for your tips.

    I tried it but Teams forced me to enter my mobile number for verifying purpose.

    How can you login without entering the number?

    Thanks for your helps, i did it's( delete my phone number in Account alias) then relog, and it's wotks,
    so strange!

    I have the same problem, I even uninstall and install the app microsoft teams PC but nothing change. Both the web and PC app , whenever i sign in the notification "Failed to Update Your Profile" appear. I try to delete my phone number on my account then sign in again but even I write correctly code I still can't confirm it. But my mobile app don't have the problem. I really mad right now.
