Failed to Update Your Profile! Every time whenever trying to sign in!

Whenever I open the app they ask "How would you like to appear on Teams?" After continuing always getting failed to update... Missed so many meeting due to it and still no solution. Tried creating a new account but it's the same.

    "Hi All - So I had the same problem. Error message popping up I went into the account info for my microsoft account - the one indicating alias and login preferences and I deleted my mobile number as a means of login. Then I went back into my account - checked that everything was updated and opened the desktop app - seems to have worked :)

    I also changed my profile picture - don't know if this makes a difference.

    I am facing a similar issue with teams Desktop/Web App! Whenever I try to open the Teams app with my personal account it shows this error message:

    "Failed to Update Your Profile We could not update your profile information.Select "Use another account" to logout and use another accountSelect "Retry" to retry updating your profile"

    What is the possible solution to it?

    Thanks! This solved my problem. I deleted my mobile number as a means of login, then tried to login to Microsoft Teams again and it asked for my mobile number. I gave the number, received a code for activation of Microsoft Teams via sms, inserted the code when asked and then it worked!
