Accessing Microsoft Teams Free using personal or organizational credentials
Still didn't work for me. The same issue is occurring.
Failed to Update Your Profile! Every time whenever trying to sign in!

Whenever I open the app they ask "How would you like to appear on Teams?" After continuing always getting failed to update... Missed so many meeting due to it and still no solution. Tried creating a new account but it's the same.

Error message popping up I went into the account info for my microsoft account - the one indicating alias and login preferences and I deleted my mobile number as a means of login. Then I went back into my account - checked that everything was updated and opened the desktop app - seems to have worked :)
I also changed my profile picture - don't know if this makes a difference.

2021-05-20T03:10:53+00:00 It seems to be a recurring intermittent issue, due to some issue with the Teams backend services.
To give you the background, your "MS Teams personal life" account is linked to your Microsoft account.
So, if you see any issue updating your profile information from MS Teams app, try Sign in to the Your info page here https://account.microsoft.com/profile with your Microsoft account and update your profile.
