Teams app is stuck on 'loading' on Mac

I am trying to load the Teams app on my Mac and it just hangs with a box saying 'loading Microsoft Teams' after I have hit the 'sign in' box. I can sign in on the web version, but the app won't load. Can you help? Thank you

    for me what worked was going to office.com (you will be asked to authenticate as per usual) and clicking Install Office (top right at the time of this writing). Then I download and installed the full Office suite which included Teams. Everything then worked.

    Using the Outlook "Join Meeting" thing from the calendar worked for me! Reinstalling, rebooting and deleting library folders did nothing.

    i'm having the same problem here. i've already tried in many ways, but couldn't solve it. access via browser normal, but app doesn't load at all. ☹️
