I am trying to load the Teams app on my Mac and it just hangs with a box saying 'loading Microsoft Teams' after I have hit the 'sign in' box. I can sign in on the web version, but the app won't load. Can you help? Thank you

I am running High Sierra 10.13.6

I found a fix, it seems like there is a Microsoft Teams cookie set which needs to be purged in order to allow the application to get to the Organisations SSO.

I'm certain that if I looked in Finder that I could tell you, but I've got to do some work now.

    1. I quit and removed the application, dropping it to Trash
    2. I opened a terminal, bash, and executed the following:

    cd ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft

    3)

rm -r Teams                    -- Comment: This recursively removes the folder, don't worry, when

    4)

    I reinstalled the application

    1. Worked fine.

    Bye!

So, this kept recurring, and I found a reliable way to skip over the issue.

Using a browser, authenticated to log onto the organisation, I opened outlook in a tab.

Choose Calendar, find a Teams meeting invite and click on that.

At the prompt, choose "Launch the Teams application".

    Authenticates fine, 5/5 times now.

    Hi,

I just delete the app, delete the folder under user/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams. Empty the trash folder. Restart. Install Microsoft Teams again and Works for me.

    Regards

I solved this issue on my MacOs Mojave - 10.14.6 (18G6020). by right-clicking on the MSTeams Icon in the dock and then 'Sign out'.

Afer signing in again the problem was resolved.

I've had the same problem as everyone else and tried every solution I could find online and in this thread.

I Uninstalled and then deleted everything as described above, I then installed it on an external hard drive and that seems to have fixed the problem...for now.

    Thanks

    Hi There folks,

I have had this same issue and it was driving me nuts, especially during interviews where there seemed to be some odd thing happening whereby I could not upload or open my PP presentations using the browser-based app.  I think that I have sorted it out this morning though, and just so folk know, I had tried everything on all of the forums to no avail, I literally spent a day trying different things with no success, but now I think I have it sorted, for the record I am using High Sierra.

Seems the issue is with the Mac OS security settings, this is what I did:

    system preferences> security & privacy

Now navigate the tab ribbon to the "privacy" section, from here navigate to the accessibility option in the left hand menu.  You should then see a box entitled "Allow the apps below to control your computer".  Below this, there are +/- buttons, clinch the

    • button and add MS teams from the applications folder.  As I had uninstalled then reinstalled, I found mine at the top of the list, not in it's alphabetical order.

Once this was done, I was able to load MS teams.

    I hope that this helps.

    Kind Regards, Pete :-)

I had this exact same issue.

The fix for me was to completely uninstall the MS Teams App (Trash it). Restart my computer and this time I downloaded it using Safari rather than Chrome. It loaded without any problems. Good Luck

    MacOs Catalina 10.15.7
