I am trying to load the Teams app on my Mac and it just hangs with a box saying 'loading Microsoft Teams' after I have hit the 'sign in' box. I can sign in on the web version, but the app won't load. Can you help? Thank you

Thank you to those that have posted.  I ended up using a bit of a combination of solutions in here to get it to work for me.  On my MacBook Air 2020 M1 with Big Sur, I had the same issue with it hanging up loading the app.  Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times without success.  Tried Microsoft Support through my company admin panel and stumped the advisor.  Neither of us were able to find the Teams folder as it's hidden just going through normal Finder window.

    Here's what worked:

    1. In Spotlight, had to search for: "~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams"
    2. Clicked to get into that folder, select all, then delete everything
    3. Reload the Teams app and used a different account (personal microsoft account rather than the business one I was trying to use before) and it let me log in and the app opened up normally
    4. I then signed out of my personal account and signed in using the business account that I had been trying in the first place and it worked this time!

    Hi There folks,

I have had this same issue and it was driving me nuts, especially during interviews where there seemed to be some odd thing happening whereby I could not upload or open my PP presentations using the browser-based app.  I think that I have sorted it out this morning though, and just so folk know, I had tried everything on all of the forums to no avail, I literally spent a day trying different things with no success, but now I think I have it sorted, for the record I am using High Sierra.

Seems the issue is with the Mac OS security settings, this is what I did:

    system preferences> security & privacy

Now navigate the tab ribbon to the "privacy" section, from here navigate to the accessibility option in the left hand menu.  You should then see a box entitled "Allow the apps below to control your computer".  Below this, there are +/- buttons, clinch the

    • button and add MS teams from the applications folder.  As I had uninstalled then reinstalled, I found mine at the top of the list, not in it's alphabetical order.

Once this was done, I was able to load MS teams.

    I hope that this helps.

    Kind Regards, Pete :-)

    Hi Rebecca,

I faced the same issue, this is how I fixed it:

    1. Open Finder

    1. On the top bar click on: Go -> Go to folder...
    2. Enter the following path:      ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/
    3. Delete the Teams folder in that directory
    4. Again, in Finder click on: Go -> Go to folder
    5. Use the following path:       ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.microsoft.teams.savedState
    6. Delete the files in that folder
    7. Open MS Teams (NO need to reboot or reinstall)
    8. This time you will see a list of user profiles associated with your computer, at the bottom of the screen there is a link to login using another user account. Click on that link.
    9. Login, as usual, using your credentials

I hope that this can help other users as well.

    Regards,

    Ezequiel

So with a new Mac there is a glitch and it hands on loading TEAMS.

you can try reinstalling but that doesn't work you need to help it along.

    <July 28 : Returning with some more data>

    1. Open up Calander... go to a TEAMS meeting you have previously scheduled (if you don't have one, log onto the online webs browser version and quickly set one up and email yourself the link)
    2. Click the Link, it will open up your camera. close that program and then click on TEAM on your MAC

WALA! it somehow fixes the problem!

    Enjoy

    Regards

    Sean

I just resolved this with help from Microsoft help agent. I too had installed and used previously by invitation but I got stuck after signing up for Teams.

For me it was resolved by deleting the entire folder called Teams in ~library/application support/microsoft

After that I tried cranking up Teams and it worked.

I am using MacOS Catalina 10.15.4

This must be the way that MS hopes to get more Teams users (ie invited to a session by someone else and liking it enough to register).

I nearly gave up and decide to carry on using alternatives.

Thanks! This suggestion worked for me!
