Calendar Icon not showing up on Teams

Hello,

I just signed up for Teams and I watched the training video about setting up meetings/calendars. In the video I noticed there is a "calendar" icon down the left side of the desktop version. I do not have that, nor do I have the option to add it. Any advice would be great.

Thank you

Hello Matt,

As you didn't see Calendar icon in the Teams Desktop App, to isolate if it is related to your Desktop App, please try to sign in your Teams Web App ( https://teams.microsoft.com/) and double check if you could find the calendar there, thanks.

If you still cannot find it in the Teams Web, in this case please try to contact your Teams admin ( if you don't know who is your admin, please contact the IT department of your company or school) and then check if your admin has assigned calendar access permission for you.

1.Sign into Teams Admin Center https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/ with the Teams admin account

  1. Navigate to Users > find your teams account there and click it to open the settings page.
  2. Click Policies > App permission policy and open it.
  3. Double check if the Calendar was added for you there, if not your admin can try to add it for you into Pinned apps  and save the changes, thanks.

Please note, the changes in the Teams Admin Center make take some hours to take effect, so please wait for it with some more patience, thanks.

If you got any further updates, please feel free to let me know, thanks.

Best Regards,

Oliver

    Hello TedAaribD,

First, may I double confirm if your users are using Microsoft 365 for Business related subscription?  If so, please suggest your user to double check if they could find the Calendar icon from the Teams Web App.  Please note, the Teams for free user don't have Calendar icon, but they can use Meeting option to schedule teams meetings.  If your users are using Microsoft 365 for Business related with Teams and cannot find the Calendar icon from the Teams web, in this case please contact your global admin to double check if the Exchange Online license were assigned to your users. As the Calendar feature in the Teams requires a Exchange Online licenses ( pure cloud users).

If you have checked the licenses and they are OK, in this case please go to Teams Admin Center > Teams App > policies > double check if the Calendar app is added into the policy which assigned to your teams users. Please note the changes in Teams Admin Center may take up to 24 hours to take effect, thanks.

On another hand, if the issue persists after that, in this case to avoid confusion and make this thread clearly, it is recommended that please post a new thread at Microsoft 365 Office > Teams > Microsoft 365 for Business cateogry in this forum, our dedicated support engineer will give you further assistance regarding your problem, thanks.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    Oliver

The "user" on the sidebar is not even showing. Microsoft, you have a very organized application here but I do hope you fix problems like these because finding solutions for the users are very hard. This goes to finding assignments too.

This is getting frustrating! I just setup my business account. I am using Gmail G-Suite for all my emails which are also added to my Azure tenant.

I do not want to move my Gmail account to Office 365. I don't have time for this. Come on MS. It is so hard to make this work like other applications out there in market?
