MS Teams crashes when EOS Webcam Utility is used for Video

Hi,

I am using Microsoft Teams for my school. I am using EOS Webcam Utility (NOT Beta) with my Canon EOS 80D. It was working perfectly with video calls for school up until about two weeks ago. Now, whenever I turn on my camera in a video call (and the video setting is EOS Webcam), my Teams crashes and I get an error saying, "There was a glitch. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please sign in again."

In my school, there is an expectation that my camera is on, and my computer's webcam is unusable, so I really need this fixed, and quickly.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

Kane

    Hi Michael

Interesting that the US site has 1.1 and EU only has 1.0. I tried 1.1 but it crashes teams as does 1.0 and 0.9 which I just tried. Looks like there is an issue in Teams so I'll just keep using OBS for Teams :-(

Same issue here. Teams on PC crashes when I switch to my Canon T3i. Was working perfect before. Web works, but need a proper fix from Teams.

Same here ! I delete all files from the mentioned folders (some did not exist), but my EOS Webcam (Canon EOS RP) is making Teams crash since 11AM.

It worked for the past 4-5 months...  and it still works with Zoom and MS Camera.

Note : I switch my profile photo AND switch an office app (Powerpoint) from my Microsoft personal to my Microsoft corporate account in the last 24h... could this be related ?

Since today I have the same issue

Yesterday I could use one of my three EOS cameras (70D, 7D-II od 1DX-II) perfect.

installed already the US - 1.1.4 and the german 1.0 version.

Deleted all mentions files - nothing changed.

OBSas well caused the crash as soon I redirected to the EOS WEBCam utility.

Since today I have the same issue with catastrophic consequences since I use the EOS Webcam Utility  for work to call customers via Teams etc. This leads to a bad impression as we are are selliong "high tech systems" ouselves. Yesterday all was fine and the first call made Teams crash immediately. Also my USB mic was affected since it was part of the custom setup. All steps described here, I tried.

    What did not help:

    • Uninstalling and re-installing Teams
    • Changing from 32bit to 64bit version
    • Updating from EOS Wecam Utility 1.0 to 1.1

    What did help:

    • Uninstalling the EOS Webcam Utility 1.0 or 1.1 and moving back to the beta version (0.9)

All other apps (Windows Camera, Webex, Nextcloud Talk) that I am using work fine with all versions 0.9, 1.0 and 1.1. Only Teams has issues.

As I think that sticking to a beta version should not be a solution, it is up to Microsoft to fix this!
