MS Teams crashes when EOS Webcam Utility is used for Video

Hi, 

I am using Microsoft Teams for my school. I am using EOS Webcam Utility (NOT Beta) with my Canon EOS 80D. It was working perfectly with video calls for school up until about two weeks ago. Now, whenever I turn on my camera in a video call (and the video setting is EOS Webcam), my Teams crashes and I get an error saying, "There was a glitch. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please sign in again." 

In my school, there is an expectation that my camera is on, and my computer's webcam is unusable, so I really need this fixed, and quickly.

    Hi Kane,

    You could find Appdata folder using these steps:

    1. Open File Explorer/Windows Explorer
    2. Type each folder path into the address bar and hit enter

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\databases

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\cache

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\gpucache

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Indexeddb

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\tmp

    Hi Nik, thank you. 

    I am working through searching those commands(it takes a while), but so far nothing comes up. For that matter, I couldn't even find the hidden folder AppData. 

    Of course I should have tried on the web! That actually did work! EOS Webcam Utility works with the web browser version of Teams!

    But I would hope this is just a temporary fix, because then my Desktop Teams App is just taking up space... :/

    If you can provide any more help with getting it to work with my Canon camera, I would greatly appreciate it.

    How do you integrate OBS with Teams? I'm not familiar with Open Broadcast Software.

    For now I’m going through OBS as a workaround but it’s a pain since I need to remember to start/stop OBS every meeting.

    I'm also a MS Employee and am having this exact same problem, only I have a Canon 70D.

    I have found that uninstalling and reinstalling Teams means my DSLR will work again but after a while (a couple of hours) I get the same glitch and have to reinstall.

    Very keen to get this fixed. I have invested a fair amount of my own money to be able to have this setup properly only to have this issue.
