Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls
I'm having the same issue for the second time.
I worked for Canon a couple of years ago and was eager to use the utility to improve my video quality. It works very well and I've been pleased with the improvement offered. HOWEVER, there was an issue about a year ago when an update to Teams came out and caused an issue with the EOS Utility. The problem was finally fixed and worked well for about 9 months until a few weeks ago. Previously, the app wouldn't launch at all and crashed the system. This time the app opens and operates as usual but if you are on a longer call (at least 15 minutes) the video crashes in the middle of your call and freezes up your video feed. You cannot switch cameras to the internal cam and it even caused me to lose audio and crash completely last week. Now if it goes down I just operate without video until my call is done.
EOS Utility works fine with Zoom, Facebook and other apps, this is a TEAMS issue.
I'd love a fix in an update.

Interesting, rich. I hate to hear this. I have been using the Canon EOS utility for a few months now, and haven't noticed the video crashing on longer calls, but maybe I haven't hit the time window yet that would cause the issue. I will test it more this week. My last call was last week and was about an hr long and was fine.
What drives me crazy is that once I started using the utility in Teams, I can no longer choose to use my laptop webcam instead. When I choose the webcam it keeps reverting back to the canon camera. I even have completely disconnected the canon camera from the laptop and it still will NOT allow me to choose the webcam. There are times when I want to use my canon camera for something else and need to be able to go back/forth. Do you know if this particular issue also happens on Zoom or Skype?
Let's hope these bugs get worked out soon--Teams is pretty widely used.
