Hello all, as per the title description it was allw orking fine until latest days. When I share my full desktop in teams, other people sees a black screen, but sharing a single application works.

I've tried with the web app and it works fine, it's the local installation that is not working.

I've already tried to reinstall Teams and cleared all the cache but issue persist.

Anyone can help me out? it's driving me nuts

Thanks

Carlo

I can confirm that I am having the same issue with Team.

I cannot share my screen if my resolution is 3440x1440 (21:9 aspect with 60hz) . If I change the resolution down a bit, then it works.

this has been my workaround in the meantime: to change the resolution down to 2560x1440 when sharing a screen. It is not ideal and quite annoying but at least I can share my screen.

Exactly the same issue. I also use Skype for business on the same laptop and screen sharing works perfectly. Teams however cannot share whole desktop, only individual apps.

Microsoft, what is the status of that problem? I see it was raised hlf a year ago already, can someone try and work on this already?

Hi, I'm also experiencing a Team's screen share issue, but only when on a Teams initatiated meeting i.e. it will share when on a direct 1-1 Team's call.

Have tested the Teams WebApp and I am able to share on a meeting which rules out Admin Policy I assume. Have also tested changes to firewall, cache deletion & lowering resolution which were all not effective. Again though, Teams screen share will function when on a direct 1-1 Teams call, so I think resolution, cache and firewall are all ruled out in that instance anyway.

It seems like the issue is App related, so have un-installed and deleted all program files then re-installed. Have also loaded all recent Windows updates (incl. firmware) as of 20/05/2020.

Can you offer any other suggestions, or are we able to raise with the technical team for review of the App?

    Device is Surface Pro 4 / 16GB Ram / i7.

    Thanks

Not sure whether we're talking about the same issue here Zane.

Specifically the issue here is about the Teams windows app, not working properly with high resolution screens: (entire) screen sharing results in other parties seeing a black screen.

This although sharing an individual application on high resolution screens seems to work without issue.  Since people tend to switch between applications often, sharing a single application is not a good workaround.

Screen sharing of high resolution screens has worked in the past btw but broke again with later updates.

Is this behaviour similar on your (2736x1824 resolution) Surface pro 4?
