Hello all, as per the title description it was allw orking fine until latest days. When I share my full desktop in teams, other people sees a black screen, but sharing a single application works.

I've tried with the web app and it works fine, it's the local installation that is not working.

I've already tried to reinstall Teams and cleared all the cache but issue persist.

Anyone can help me out? it's driving me nuts

Thanks

Carlo

I have the same problem, but it shows black when i try to show the entire screen of my external monitor (second screen) when i have the display settings to show either this screen only (laptop screen off) or in extend mode. Sharing one application window worked fine, but that can be problematic when i want to jump to a browser.

Sharing the laptop screen full works fine but not what I want to do.

I have a workaround and that is to set both monitors to duplicate. then full screen sharing works.

Perhaps some braino on the Microsoft Teams team can solve this problem. GoToMeeting and Zoom both work perfectly with my hardware.

    Worked for me.

Ubuntu 20.04, latest linux client (as of 7/31/2020)

However, I found the web version worked just fine w/o this change.

Also, web version allows sharing screen of desktop, application, and chrome tab, while desktop version only gives me option to share whole desktop. So web version is even better.

The issue is back on 1.3.00.16851 linux version. I had to went back to 1.3.00.5153 version.

The 1.3.00.16851 version also isn't working for me. (Linux Mint 19.2, i3 desktop)

When I share my screen, I get a black overlay with a red border which is occluding everything.

Just in case this helps someone:

One of our customers encountered the same problem today.

We had the impression that application sharing sometimes worked with small application windows, but worked rarer with increasing size of the application window.

We observed that the problem only occurred with one, even the slower one of the two internet connections.

Those connections are quite equal (apart from the speed), but are using different DNS servers.

When the internet traffic was routed through the first connection which was using the cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1 - other people only saw black screens when sharing the screen or an application.

When the internet traffic was routed through the second connection, screen sharing worked instantly.

So we changed the DNS server of the first connection for test purposes - and after the line was disconnected an connected again, screen sharing worked like a charm via both connections.

Interestingly it still worked after changing the DNS back to 1.1.1.1 - so it's certainly possible that only the reconnect solved problem and the cloudflare DNS not to blame.

Latest version (of Teams) installed - still problems with black screens in Teams.

It's on a 840 G5 - latest HD cam driver is installed. Only one external monitor and 1920 x 1080 resolution.
