Can't link existing plan in Planner to Teams

My team at work has a plan that was created in Planner.  We now want to also start using Teams, but we are unable to link the existing plan to Teams.  When we try to add a Planner tab to a channel, we get the option to "Use an existing plan from this team" or create a new plan, but there's no option to link to an already existing plan in Planner.  Does anyone know how to do this, or can you only link to plans that were created in Teams?

    Yes, it is possible. Please see attached image. 

    The connector is the Active Directory group that BOTH the Planner Plan and the MS Teams Team belong to. They should belong to the same AD Group and you are set. Please see attached image. 

    This was not always working but glad it finally does. I was able to select my planner from the existing plan.

    Thanks for the suggestion, DSlemon. This is a reasonable workaround, but not a solution. 

    MS needs to fix the actual issue, which is allowing an existing planner to be associated with a team. I got it to work for one occurrence, but can't get any of my other planners to work. Nothing is obviously different about any of these. 

    Making new planners isn't the answer either. I can't move my tasks from one planner to another (yet another issue with MS Planner) so it means I have to recreate all those tickets. This is terrible.

    We will likely be switching to Asana...

    Hi Laurenla

    Open Planner in Microsoft365.com, select the exisiting plan of interest and copy the URL.

    In MS Teams, select the respective Team & Channel. Click + at the Channel menu to create new Tab. Select the 'Website' app. You may need to 'Search' for this app. 

    In the dialog box, enter the Tab name (Plan name) and paste the plan's URL.

    The existing plan will now be available in the Team Channel.

    Hi DSlemon,

    I have the same issue. I am trying to use the web app to solve the problem, but it still does not populate. When you say you posted the URL for the web version, where did you post that into to get it to add to the menu ribbon? Thanks!
