Microsoft Teams status is stuck on "Out of Office"

I recently went on vacation and accessed Teams from my tablet for the first time by installing the Teams app. Now I am back at work and using my work laptop. Even though I have signed out of the Teams app on my tablet and removed my work account from all Microsoft apps on my tablet, my Teams status is still stuck as "Out of Office." How can I change it to "Available?"

Things I have tried:

  1. (tablet) Changing status to "Available" on the tablet app
  2. (tablet) Signing out of the tablet app
  3. (tablet) Removing my work accounts from my tablet completely
  4. (laptop) Signing in and out of the Teams app
  5. (laptop) clicking on my profile pic and changing the status to "Available" or any other status. (There is no change at all)
  6. (laptop) typing in the command to change my status to available (no change at all)
  7. (browser) Accessing Teams through Chrome on my laptop and doing 5 and 6 (no effect)

Note that my Skype and Outlook status is correctly set to "Available." I'm at a complete loss and would really like help with this.

I don't like it, but I had to turn Out Of Office on in Outlook and then back off again... then my status changed.. not a great fix but a work around.

That happened to me and I had to change the OOO to end on the previous day rather than at 7am the current day. When I did that and then restarted everything it finally showed me as active.

This is basically the 737 Max MCAS of product features. Under normal logical usage, it'll do the wrong thing and make your life miserable so you have to trick it into working properly.

I too am suffering this issue. I returned today from a 3 week medical leave, turned off OOO in Outlook. Skype for Business changed to available, Outlook changed to available, Outlook 365 changed to available, but Teams remains on OOO. I have toggled OOO again in Outlook, Outlook 365, nothing makes a difference. Logged out of everything, rebooted, back in again, same behavior from Teams. I am still OOO and I have NO APPOINTMENTS in Outlook for the next 4 days.

Edit: Well after the better part of an hour, it finally changed its status...
