Microsoft Teams status is stuck on "Out of Office"

I recently went on vacation and accessed Teams from my tablet for the first time by installing the Teams app. Now I am back at work and using my work laptop. Even though I have signed out of the Teams app on my tablet and removed my work account from all Microsoft apps on my tablet, my Teams status is still stuck as "Out of Office." How can I change it to "Available?"

Things I have tried:

  1. (tablet) Changing status to "Available" on the tablet app
  2. (tablet) Signing out of the tablet app
  3. (tablet) Removing my work accounts from my tablet completely
  4. (laptop) Signing in and out of the Teams app
  5. (laptop) clicking on my profile pic and changing the status to "Available" or any other status. (There is no change at all)
  6. (laptop) typing in the command to change my status to available (no change at all)
  7. (browser) Accessing Teams through Chrome on my laptop and doing 5 and 6 (no effect)

Note that my Skype and Outlook status is correctly set to "Available." I'm at a complete loss and would really like help with this.

This is the exact reason why our status shows OOO. But this is pathetic feature, why should our status show as OOO for accepting others OOO message?

Solution: create new all day meeting and save. Cancel the meeting. Teams status is refreshed.

    Or

You simply set an out office reply (even though you are no longer out of office) to display at a time close to when you are setting it up and to shut off at the next available time....usually 15 minute increments...for it to stop displaying.  It will clear the message in Teams after it reaches the time you scheduled it to shut off.

i.e. if I was doing this right now I would set my OOO to start displaying at 1:15 pm and to turn off at 1:30 pm the same day.  Problem solved.

Problem: I had no meetings for today, and my out of office notification expired today at 8:00 AM. My Teams status was still showing out of office at 11:00 AM.

Solution: create new all day meeting and save. Cancel the meeting. Teams status is refreshed.

This worked. I can't believe we have to do this in an enterprise grade product.

    Thank you.
