Microsoft Teams status is stuck on "Out of Office"

I recently went on vacation and accessed Teams from my tablet for the first time by installing the Teams app. Now I am back at work and using my work laptop. Even though I have signed out of the Teams app on my tablet and removed my work account from all Microsoft apps on my tablet, my Teams status is still stuck as "Out of Office." How can I change it to "Available?"

Things I have tried:

  1. (tablet) Changing status to "Available" on the tablet app
  2. (tablet) Signing out of the tablet app
  3. (tablet) Removing my work accounts from my tablet completely
  4. (laptop) Signing in and out of the Teams app
  5. (laptop) clicking on my profile pic and changing the status to "Available" or any other status. (There is no change at all)
  6. (laptop) typing in the command to change my status to available (no change at all)
  7. (browser) Accessing Teams through Chrome on my laptop and doing 5 and 6 (no effect)

Note that my Skype and Outlook status is correctly set to "Available." I'm at a complete loss and would really like help with this.

    I had the same issue and found out it is an issue with your status under your outlook calendar.   I have included a screenshot.  You need to make sure the status on the event is set to "Free", instead of "Away", otherwise your global status in Teams will be set to "Out of Office" and cannot be changed.

    Hope this helps.

    Here's what worked for me:

    1. Set an appointment in the current time slot in my Outlook calendar. This caused my status to change to Busy.
    2. Delete the appointment. This caused my status to change to Available,
    3. ....and the Out of Office message was gone.

    I'm having the same issue too! I've been stuck out of office for this entire week, and I have tried everything. Even my IT department cannot figure out how to fix it.

    Please help because this is making things more difficult at work.

    I was able to resolve this on my computer by clearing the cache on the Office Upload Center. Quit all instances of Teams running. I even deleted the mobile apps off my iPhone and iPad, but that may not be necessary. (Always trust but verify).

    1. Search for or open the "Office Upload Center" app.
    2. Click on the Settings Gear Icon
    3. Under the Cache Settings section click the button for Delete Cached Files

    As soon as I re-opened Teams, my Dual Available, Out of Office status was replaced my the regular Available status and my Out of Office message that was stuck was gone.

    Hope this helps, it was a very frustrating experience until I was able to get this resolved.

    My status is set to "Available, Out of Office" as in both at the same time. My vacation responder is turned off. This has been happening for weeks. None of my coworkers have the same status (green ring with green check mark; it should be the green circle with a white check mark).
