Hi,
We just started using MS Teams. One of my coworkers has troubles using audio messages on his Android phone. When he taps on the little microphone to record a message, he gets this error message: "Error recording audio".
Since audio messages is something we use very frequently, this is a bit of a problem. I tried to google the problem to find out more, but I can't find any reference to this error on the internet.
Recording audio messages works fine for everybody else, so I'm a bit stumped as to what's happening here.
Can anybody help?
Thanks so much,
Barbara

Hello Barbara_EM,
Thanks for your post in Microsoft community. Based on your description, since only one user having recording issue in Teams app in your Android device, so we would like to suggest you to kindly change your mobile network and check if you are able to recording message or not.
Further other users have no issue, so try to configure your account in other user’s mobile device and check if you are able to recording message or not. You can also try to configure other user’s Teams account in your mobile device to verify the issue.
If you are able to access recording message in other user’s mobile device, it means issue is with your mobile device. We would like to suggest you kindly check your Android device and Teams application is updated with latest version and try to reinstall Teams application and configure your account.
Thanks and regards,

Hi Ankita
Thanks a lot for your quick answer!
I did everything you suggested: The problem seems to be with the android phone, not the account. On my iphone, I can record voice messages from my coworkers account just fine.
The android phone and Teams app are both up to date. I've reinstalled Teams 3 times already, it doesn't help.
What else can I do?
Thanks so much for your help,
Barbara
Hello Barbara_EM,
Thanks for update. Since issue is with only affected users’ android device, so we would like to suggest you to kindly check setting of android device and Teams.
Go to Android device setting and search for Teams app > Open app permissions > check Microphone settings is enable
If the above suggestion doesn’t help, we recommend you to check your Android device as well because if issue is with O365 Account, then user facing Teams Audio messaging issue in all other devices as well.
Thanks for kind understanding and co-operation.
Thanks and regards,

Hi Ankita
Thanks a lot for you help! I just can't figure out what the problem with the Android device is. It's not a permissions issue (I checked), and also not a general issue with audio messaging (it works in Whatsapp and other messaging apps).
Best,
Barbara
