Hi,

I have a reccurent issue with MS teams app from desktop on Windows 10, it loads, and ask to sign into O365. Then it hangs for hours.... task manager shows 4 Teams.exe threads.

I have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled 64 bit Teams.  Cleared all cached credentials in Windows 'credential manager'

Cleaned up user Team cache with

set TEAMPATH=%appdata%\Microsoft\teams

del /Q %TEAMPATH%"application cache"\cache\*.*

del /Q %TEAMPATH%\blob_storage\*.*

del /Q %TEAMPATH%\Cache\*.*

del /Q %TEAMPATH%\databases\*.*

del /Q %TEAMPATH%\GPUcache\*.*

del /Q %TEAMPATH%\IndexedDB\*.*

del /Q %TEAMPATH%"Local Storage"\*.*

del /Q %TEAMPATH%\tmp\*.*

pause

Reinstalled Teams : It worked once but hanged again after relaunching Teams.

Here is the window Teams gets stucked on :

I can use Teams Web app but have the message :

We're experiencing limitations with OneNote in Microsoft Teams. Please use OneNote for the web to edit this notebook.

When opening OneNote for the web i have issues with notebooks not showing some tabs with folowing error message :

Reloading page does not solve the problem.

Who can you help me for both problems ?

Same issue here. Also tried all other things mentioned, but nothing worked. And also in my case installing 1.3.00.24758 fixed the problem.

In my case I had a user with a brand new notebook.

The newest installer has been used and leaded to the mentioned problem.

I tried around deleting profile data of teams and registry cleanup but no improvement.

I then transfered an old installer from october 2020 with this the error did not occur.

Then I started selfupdate and it worked again with the newest version.

I had the exact issue and I tried everything. The only thing that worked at first was to create a new windows profile, which I don't want to have to do on the 3 machines I have with this issue.

I found the advice to install an old version then upgrade, and it worked. Long story short, here is where you can find the old versions (if you haven't already). I used the original version 1, it installed fine and opened. Then it told me to update and I did, works fine now.

I had the same issue when setting up my new laptop. Tried reinstalling several times and other fixes listed her. Nothing worked.

I fixed it by copying the old installer files (Teams_windows_64_xxxxxx.exe) from my old laptop to the new one via bluetooth and then ran that instead of the latest one on Microsoft page. That worked.

FYI: Microsoft acknowledged the issue today and did confirm that setting teams.exe to run in compatibility mode was the temporary fix. Apparently, this is related to users who have both an MSA and AAD accounts with matching names.  (See TM236316):
