MS Teams with Sony headphones wh-1000xm5

Hi!

I'm having trouble using my new wh-1000xm5 headphones in Teams on laptop and it is no problem with the initial connection process to windows using bluetooth. It can find two outputs to the headphones, handsfree and stereo. I use the stereo as primary but have tried with both. However, in teams calls using the windows application I can't use the microphone on the headphones, people can't hear me and then my sound disappear. The sound works fine and with good quality while using laptop microphone but when switching to headphone mic the sound disappear again.

Any idea what the problem is?

    I have the same problem.
    When i make a call with Android it is perfect but when I make a call with windows11 it doesn't work :-(

    Hi,

    I also have WH1000XM5 headset, the first time I connected them to my PC (W11) I could use the headset without a problem. The second meeting I had that day I started having the issues described in the thread.

    Not sure if this happened to you, but when it was not working, by doing a test call in Teams I hear the first "beep" when the call is recording your voice, but it never play back the recording, it just tells me that if Im satisfied with the audio everything was ok.

    I has this issue for some time and what I did that at least fixed it for me was to connect the headset to my phone and initialized the headset, which I believe is to restore it to its default settings, I paired them again in my phone, I removed the device from my PC and paired them again. After that, the test call was working fine and I could hear myself in the recording.

    Intel is the issue. Their AX211 Bluetooth drivers have been busted for ages now. I disabled Intel Bluetooth in the device manager and installed a USB Dongle UGREEN USB Bluetooth 5.0. Presto. That did the trick for me. Headset Mode. Music, Voice. After struggling for months with reinstalls, fresh installation, and existing system image. The USB dongle is all I needed to get my WH-1000XM5 working as a HEADSET again. Cheers.

    Sad to say, I have been using a USB dongle from the start, so no solution for me here :/
