MS Teams with Sony headphones wh-1000xm5

Hi!

I'm having trouble using my new wh-1000xm5 headphones in Teams on laptop and it is no problem with the initial connection process to windows using bluetooth. It can find two outputs to the headphones, handsfree and stereo. I use the stereo as primary but have tried with both. However, in teams calls using the windows application I can't use the microphone on the headphones, people can't hear me and then my sound disappear. The sound works fine and with good quality while using laptop microphone but when switching to headphone mic the sound disappear again.

Any idea what the problem is?

    I may have resolved my XM5 vs. Teams issue today. I'll come back if it turns out to be permanent or not.

    Laptop has Intel chipset, so I downloaded the latest driver https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/204837/intel-wifi-6e-ax211-gig/downloads.html

    this changed FW from v22.190.0.4 to 22.220.1.1. After a reboot, everything (as by magic) worked.

    I bought them on a Friday after work and used them Monday with great joy only to have them NOT work Tuesday morning.

    4 days with having to go back to the Jabra 65e's... <insert censored words and emojis>

    Yes, but you need to disable that. If you go to the previous page of this thread, you will see that someone gives a link to the solution over there. In fact you need to disable the hands-free option:

    Here's how to fix it. Priviously with the 3's, you could go in your drivers or in your device and disable the Hands-Free option. Now ith the 4's and Windows 11, you basicly only have to go to : Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Devices and Printers.

    There you'll find you headphones. Right click, properties -> bluetooth and disable the hands-free option. This is how to do it in windows 10: Only difference is I'm on Windows 10, and instead of Properties --> Bluetooth --> Disable hands free, it was Properties --> Services --> Untick the "Hands-free Telephony" box --> Apply

    Intel is the issue. Their AX211 Bluetooth drivers have been busted for ages now. I disabled Intel Bluetooth in the device manager and installed a USB Dongle UGREEN USB Bluetooth 5.0. Presto. That did the trick for me. Headset Mode. Music, Voice. After struggling for months with reinstalls, fresh installation, and existing system image. The USB dongle is all I needed to get my WH-1000XM5 working as a HEADSET again. Cheers.

    I am in the same situation.
    It does not occur in Windows 10, but in Windows 11, so it must be a Windows problem.

    I also have that problem, no sound when use Sony headphones in stereo mode and external microphone. Only works on Hands Free profile.
