Stopping the microphone from automatically adjusting level

Every time I run a meeting in the Teams app, my microphone level automatically gets set to 100%.

I have set the communications option in the control panel to do nothing and there appears to be no option in the app to stop it from doing this. I have a sensitive microphone that requires low gain - this is very frustrating as I am using it to teach lessons remotely.

Any ideas?

Doesn't work on a company pc obviously. This is such a ridiculous flaw in the Teams app.

They plan to buy Discord. Then they have three solutions to the same problem "voice & video communication". I don't see where things get fixed in any of their current solutions... I guess we have to live with that.

It's a ridiculous issue. A year passed since the topic is started.

I've found a workaround for this. At least it works for me.

I should keep the Microsoft "Sound settings" window (where the "Test your Microphone" shows the microphone level when you speak) opened while using Teams. In this case Teams does not able to intercept the windows settings and microphone works fine.

    Hope it helps

Actually the issue with the automatic mic level adjustment is gone for me. I didn't change anything but Teams does not seem to interfere with my settings anymore. Or the issue where the level gets set to 0 is fixed.

That leaves the echoing in setups with speakers... But this is a story for another time.
