Stopping the microphone from automatically adjusting level

Every time I run a meeting in the Teams app, my microphone level automatically gets set to 100%. 

I have set the communications option in the control panel to do nothing and there appears to be no option in the app to stop it from doing this. I have a sensitive microphone that requires low gain - this is very frustrating as I am using it to teach lessons remotely.

Any ideas?

    One the main features of Teams is voice communication. But it fails on many instances. This is just another issue that has existed in previous solutions (like Skype) and was obviously transported over to Teams. I DONT'T LIKE ANY SOFTWARE TO MESS WITH MY OS SETTINGS! PERIOD! Unless I install a software to do exactly that. Teams is not the only voice comm software I use and the other products rely on steady OS settings.

    So first of all make this control not OS but only Teams wide. But even then, please give more experienced users the option to setup for their hardware. There is such a big variety of hardware that you can't be trusting a single algorithm to control the audio setup for "best quality". Teams reduces my mic volume to 0 if not on call... why?

    And sorry, but using a different software to make up for the basics that MS can't provide in Teams is not going to help at all. I will rather complain about this everywhere again and again until it is fixed.

    This is still an ongoing issue. When Teams is activated, I can look at the Microphone Levels and they are forced to 0 or 1 even with the unchecking of boxes and setting levels from speech recognition. I don't know if there will ever be a fix.

    I bet Microsoft doesn't use their own tools in this way. Otherwise, they would realize very quickly that their perhaps so great perceived feature causes huge problems. Eat your own dogfood!

    Much worse: They provide a support channel where obviously no employee is reading. If I'm wrong, it suggests that Microsoft simply doesn't care if their tools are usable or not. the main thing is that the money rolls in.

    Well until Teams decides to implement this... If ever... There is a workaround for the windows app you if you are an administrator on your machine.

    Steps:

    1. Download from: https://www.vb-audio.com/Cable/index.htm
    2. Extract and install driver for virtual audio cable and restart
    3. Open sound settings
    4. Playback - Set your normal speakers as default
    5. Recording - Set your normal microphone as default
    6. Recording - open properties for your microphone
    7. Under listen tab, set to play through the new "Cable Input" device, apply
    8. In Teams, device settings, set the microphone input to the new "Cable Output"

    Now, Only for Teams, the microphone sound is routed through the "virtual cable" so Teams only sees the virtual microphone, and does not seem to mess this one up!

      did that but now my microphone is not working in teams. Any idea how to fix it?

    We wouldn't be here if it was that simple as Rudy says... Fix your TEAMS app and let us actually do what you're suggesting.
