Stopping the microphone from automatically adjusting level

Every time I run a meeting in the Teams app, my microphone level automatically gets set to 100%.

I have set the communications option in the control panel to do nothing and there appears to be no option in the app to stop it from doing this. I have a sensitive microphone that requires low gain - this is very frustrating as I am using it to teach lessons remotely.

Any ideas?

I also have this problem. This only occurs with my USB Microphones (Tonor TC-777 & CMTECK). Using ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 1 with Thunderbolt 3 Dock. I have to uninstall and reinstall the VB Cable Virtual application every time I reattach to the dock to get the work around to work. The onboard Mics work fine (when I use it as a laptop) but when at my dock, I don't have the lid open. When docked I also have a 1080p webcam that has a pretty bad Mic, and I use that in a pinch when the Tonor / VB Cable isn't working.

The Mic controls in Teams and Windows 10 are awful. This needs to get resolved. The Skype team has already fixed this issue in the past. Please implement the same fix. I use slack, discord, zoom, webex, gotomeeting, turbo meeting, google hangouts (now google meet) and they all work fine with direct connections to the Tonor TC-777. Only Microsoft Teams has a problem where it sets the Mic level to 1-3 automagically and then I, as the administrator on the computer, cannot over ride that value. I move it to 100, it goes right back down. People can only hear me when I'm holding the level up with my mouse... does not permit me to do my work very well while on a call with customers.

Very disappointed that this is still an issue. Please fix this ASAP. I've voted for this issue on the Teams site as well.

Thanks for the help.  For single issues this may help.  It's a bit of a workaround and not convenient, but does help those that are desperate.  We are not able to deploy something like this to hundreds of users.  We really just need this issue to be fixed instead of relying on a third party piece of software to circumvent the actual issue.

Again, thank you for the help.  I'm hoping Microsoft will actually fix the issue.
