Every time I run a meeting in the Teams app, my microphone level automatically gets set to 100%.
I have set the communications option in the control panel to do nothing and there appears to be no option in the app to stop it from doing this. I have a sensitive microphone that requires low gain - this is very frustrating as I am using it to teach lessons remotely.
Any ideas?

Found a newer version of Teams that has the noise suppression options in Device Settings under the main settings. Turned it off, restarted Teams, but it still changes my mic settings when I go to device settings in a meeting.
Basically +1'ing this issue. I've migrated laptops and am having this issue suddenly with Teams. Didn't have it on an older laptop with the same headset.
I'm trying out the work around posted earlier in this thread. I do not see a spot to adjust noise suppression in my Teams device settings despite screenshots elsewhere showing it should be there.
I found that deactivating the "Noise supression" option by setting it to "Off" and restarting the teams app no longer forcefully sets my mic volume to 43, i had the problem that my mic sounds fine on 100 and teams always forced it to 43 making me barely audible.
I happened upon the same fix just now, myself. This seems to be the feature that manipulates the mic level.

This seems to be much lower in delay, and if you try to play the sound at 2 places, then this is a full workaround:
instead of virtual cable, get the tool Voicemeeter
You can select multiple inputs (one should be original mic input)
and you select outputs, can set it to your standard sound out
in teams, select that virtual Voicemeeter device. teams gets the sound from this virtual mic, and the virtual mic is not affected by teams mic auto adjustments. If it is loud then it stays loud, if relative silent, it stays silent. Use that voicemeeter tool to adjust volume instead.
