Stopping the microphone from automatically adjusting level

Every time I run a meeting in the Teams app, my microphone level automatically gets set to 100%.

I have set the communications option in the control panel to do nothing and there appears to be no option in the app to stop it from doing this. I have a sensitive microphone that requires low gain - this is very frustrating as I am using it to teach lessons remotely.

Any ideas?

Since this started our company call quality from our conference rooms using a PC for teams conferencing has decreased to the point where our users are holding meetings on other platforms. There needs to be a way to turn this off.

Up until the latest Windows update (2020-04 update for 1909), AGC was only an issue for me in Loom.

With the latest update, however, even Camtasia seems to be inheriting this awful setting.

    PLEASE fix!

Why isn't there a solution for this yet? Your app already has enough issues. This one seems trivially easy to fix.

I have it the other way around.... Microsoft Teams keep adjusting my microphone level down to 0%, so that no one can hear me when I speak.... It's definitely a Microsoft issue — other software that use the Microphone do not do this.

Although I also see variations between different microphones. Microsoft Teams (for me) always adjusts the microphone level down to 0%, but on some mirophones, it adjusts the microphone level up when I start to speak. On others, it just keeps it at zero percent — as if it is muting.

So, I think this is a algorithm error on Microsoft's part on trying to improve audio performance and reduce background noise, but it doesn't always work — and of course they didn't give people options to tune it or turn it off....
