Chats not refreshing / showing latest messages in microsoft teams

For some reason all of a sudden I cannot see any new messages in the chat during class on my laptop. The messages appear on my mobile but they arnt coming in the chat on my PC. Please help me the chat is very vital for my classes

Yes. This is what we see. Clearing the cache updates all versions, but the Mobile and Browser versions update themselves without clearing the cache.

So far the survey shows that most users (about 70%) do not see this issue at all, though they are using the same versions as the ones who do see the issue.

All are on Windows 10.

All are using both Mobile and Desktop.

None are using the browser version.

    To throw another log on the pile, I'm getting the same problem in Chat (on a Mac desktop client).

    I tried deleting the folders as suggested above, and have reinstalled Teams a number of times (currently on 1.4.00.29478). The problem has persisted across a couple of versions.

    The only workaround I've found is to go to the Microsoft Teams menu and click "About Microsoft Teams". For some reason once that bar's showing the messages all show as well.

    Would be nice if this could be fixed, however.
