Teams away setting automatically switching on when not away

Hi there,

My teams status is constantly switching to "away" while I am working on my computer. This is very frustrating as my co-workers need to know when I am actually away or available.

Is there a manual override for this? It would be excellent to be able to set it as available so that my team knows they can reach my even if I am working on paper, or in this case if it has switched itself to "away".

Thanks!

You've not really addressed the problem here, and I have doubts that you ever truly understood the problem in the first place. Teams will show us as AWAY even when we're actively working on CPU.

The least you could do is inform us of what's being done to solve this issue. I've seen many posts about this on the UserVoice service, and yet here we are, still discussing the problem whilst you remain silent......... Thanks for giving us a **** answer and then disappearing. Are you using the calendar in Outlook?  Do you have entries in your calendar that are setting your status to "Busy," "Working Elsewhere" or "Out of Office?"

    Are you minimizing Teams?

I'm not experiencing this. Teams shows me as available and I haven't interacted with it for several hours.  It is maximized (under a boatload of other junk).

I'm having other issues with Office which are driving our IT Dept. crazy.  They uninstalled Office and Teams and reinstalled them and the issues have not gone away.

No, its not the calendar causing it.  They are being set to "Away" simply because Teams hasnt been used in a few minutes.

This does not occur to everyone.  I dont experience it myself, but several of my end users have reported it.  About 5%.

And even for those users it happens randomly.  Sometimes they'll have a nice green check mark for hours and then suddenly it will switch them to away.  Somedays it doesnt happen, other days its constant.  One user literally has a blank calendar, so its not that.  Other users dont experience it at all.

    Impossible to troubleshoot.  Quite annoying.
