Teams away setting automatically switching on when not away

Hi there,

My teams status is constantly switching to "away" while I am working on my computer. This is very frustrating as my co-workers need to know when I am actually away or available.

Is there a manual override for this? It would be excellent to be able to set it as available so that my team knows they can reach my even if I am working on paper, or in this case if it has switched itself to "away".

Thanks!

Having the exact same issue.  A fix would be very nice.

Agreed...it happens to me all the time and I find it very unfair as it effects our reputation as we are shown as away while in reality we are working using other applications whilst keeping Teams in the background.

Microsoft please take this seriously and provide a quick fix for this issue. All you need is to provide an option to the user to enable configuration of the "Away" timeout or if you don't want to allow users to configure it just change it to 60 minutes.

Look back about 5 posts or so at the screenshot - apparently status duration is being added. More of a work around than a real fix IMO, but something at least.

This is such an annoying problem. In addition to having people I work with think I am not here to answer questions it has become a huge distraction as whenever I see the yellow dot I feel compelled to stop what I am doing and click on Teams to make it reset. Such a horrible feature that makes Teams seem like a needy child. Worse, it seems to stop this after 5 pm and show me available when no one is looking for me anymore. This seriously needs to be fixed, and soon.

I absolutely agree, this bug is ridiculous! More than a year this has annoyed users but Microsoft won't even acknowledge it. If I had a choice, I would bring back Skype, which was so much better and more reliable. I guess this is Microsoft's answer to progress...

Had the same problem and managed to find a solution.

In windows settings, there is a setting called Focus Assist - turn it off and turn all automatic rules and it should work as this was affecting ma teams status and changing it to away
