Teams away setting automatically switching on when not away

Hi there,

My teams status is constantly switching to "away" while I am working on my computer. This is very frustrating as my co-workers need to know when I am actually away or available.

Is there a manual override for this? It would be excellent to be able to set it as available so that my team knows they can reach my even if I am working on paper, or in this case if it has switched itself to "away".

Thanks!

I am in the same boat!  It's very frustrating to have to click on something in Microsoft teams to reset my status.  I'm too busy to have to do this every 5-10 minutes throughout the day.  The whole aspect of our status changing to away without having a way to change to a longer term was frustrating enough let alone NOW another glitch to be added to mix most recently is the away status when your NOT away and clearly working in another application other than Microsoft Teams.

This should be a priority to fix and it's been well over 2 months with nothing resolved.

Are you seeing all the concerns with folks since a majority are remote working and this isn't helping our visibility with management...i.e our bosses!

Please fix!! This is hurting productivity. I have coworkers waiting to provide updates because they think I am engaged in something else or not available.

I've been having the same issue for the past week. It seem to have started when I started using the Teams phone system. That in itself is another issue.

This started happening to me a lot more frequently after moving to Teams-only mode from Skype for Business for our phones last week.

This seemed to fix it for me (so far):

Uninstall Teams from the Control Panel.

    Delete the C:\Users*username*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams folder.

Download and install Teams from Microsoft (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app).

Open Teams and click the profile picture and "Check for updates".

Click the "Refresh" prompt in the banner to relaunch Teams when the updates were finished.
