Teams away setting automatically switching on when not away

Hi there, 

My teams status is constantly switching to "away" while I am working on my computer. This is very frustrating as my co-workers need to know when I am actually away or available.

Is there a manual override for this? It would be excellent to be able to set it as available so that my team knows they can reach my even if I am working on paper, or in this case if it has switched itself to "away".

    Edit 2: Running Skype for Business in the system icon area as a background app seems to keep Teams alive. I know not everyone has that ability but it seems to be working if you do.

    I appreciate the fact that I just got another update today for MS Teams, and this disaster of a problem STILL HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED! IT HAS BEEN MONTHS!

    I Truly hope whoever is ignoring this issue on the MS Teams staff sits on a rotating cactus for as long as this issue lasts.

    So far logging into Teams via web browser seems to keep the desktop app showing Active. I heard using the phone app has the same effect, but I don't want Teams on my phone and the web-based login seems to be working so far.

    My boss is a TEAMStalker so this Away status timeout just because I haven't clicked inside the Teams desktop app is a real issue. Microsoft could be getting a lot of people in trouble with this horrible design choice.

    Edit: web-based login does not solve the issue. Thought it did but Teams just wasn't syncing properly.

    That is precisely the issue.  It is showing away when actively working on another program.  I hate to say but people follow that status to see if you are working.  With some update made recently it changes even though still actively working on the PC.   

    Some people work in a punitive environment.

    I checked my settings and Focus Assit was already turned off. So this doesn't help me.

    Also, someone said about putting Teams window on a separate monitor. Well, who has a dedicated display just for Teams!

    I know Microsoft don't care about their customers and rarely listen to their concerns, but come on....

    Do they even have the source code for Teams? I'm a software engineer and could fix it in minutes or at least add an option for people to configure it. Again, come on Microsoft....

    I agree that this is a problem Microsoft has to solve properly but in my case I never used my laptop screen as an additional screen since it is too small. Thanks to Microsoft now I have a dedicated display just for Teams.
