Teams - Revert to Classic Emojis

Greetings!

Microsoft Teams recently rolled out the Microsoft Fluent emoji style in Teams. This change altered all emojis and reactions across the platform and made them look incredibly displeasurable and unusual. In a business environment, I would venture to say the updated emojis are unusable due to the fact that they are so silly (for lack of a better word). I have thus far been unable to revert the emojis back to the way they were before this update; however, I would like to do this, as would my team. Is there any way to revert the emojis back to the way they were before this Microsoft Fluent emoji style update?

Thanks for any insight!

These new emojis are horrible. Maybe nice for young kids when they chat, but absolutely not suitable for professional use. Please roll back or at least let people have a choice. The animations are extremely annoying and distracting. Besides that, on my Mac the animation loop ends in a 'blank' period. So all the butt-ugly things are A) moving and B) constantly flickering. It makes Teams absolutely unbearable to have open.

I really am at a loss how somebody in his right mind could approve of this change for a business application.

I too HATE these new emojis, and have posted a comment on all three links. Few things upset me as much as they do. They're ridiculous, childish, and completely unprofessional.

I also don't appreciate the look of the new Emoji's. Not suitable at all for professional use. Please revert to the old ones. Thanks!

I have the same problem, however yesterday I noticed that if you use Win+. to open the same emoji-board as you use in Outlook, you can still use the old emoji in Teams. And they look the same on the receiving end.

Reaction emojis will keep looking weird.

Emojis are essential to add emotions and non-verbal information in conversations, especially since people works more and more remotely. It's fundamental to avoid ambiguities, confusions, and misunderstandings. In the meantime, it helps to be more productive because these small images often avoid a lot of explanations. It's not an optional fancy tool.

For my (professional) use, these new emojis are very bad. Mainly, because they are:

    • graphically badly designed: they all miss contrast. More importantly, they are not designed to be displayed in a small size (e.g. inserted in text) and become an unreadable mush of pixels.
    • too "silly" and/or "dumb" to be use in professional conversations. For me, previous ones had the right balance between serious and relax.
    • ambiguous (for some of those) on the emotion they are supposed to convey, or not clear on the intention (sometimes, I need to display the "tip" message to be sure...).

Please, please, please, revert to the previous ones.
