Teams - Revert to Classic Emojis

I respectfully disagree 100% with Lyndon here.

Change is expensive. But sunk cost is a fallacy. The fact that a change has resulted is such a backlash should be heard by Microsoft.

A data point of one person saying they are bad is a subjective opinion. A preponderance of similar opinions, even if they are "vitriol" or negative, has merit for any company who provides products or services. We are not subjects, we are customers. Our opinions should matter.

I agree that Microsoft should listen to our feedback. Many on this thread would seem to disagree that Microsoft does listen to our feedback. Perhaps I'm excessively cynical, but I'm finding myself tempted to agree.

I realize this may seem a subtle point, but "we like Teams but hate the emojis" is exactly the message we are trying to convey to Microsoft Teams' product folks. And, let's be clear, hate is the correct term. Moderate dislike does not result in this kind of feedback. Someone truly messed up at Microsoft and we need to keep making them constantly aware until this changes.

I'm willing to hear an argument in favor of persistence. Do you think it will help?

This should not be a personalization option (ie., I get to choose "classic emojis" but others may choose the new ones). That means I can't rely on what I'm communicating reaching the other person in the same way as intended. No. This needs to be a 100% U turn away from these monstrosities.

Hello Microsoft developers.

Yes, please give the users the tools for utilizing the former smiley set. The new set is totally unusable specially for the older generation. I'm close to 60 and I use smilies all the time in email and on forums. I find the new set highly undesirable so much so that I won't use it. IMHO it has ruined the smiley experience for me. Please listen to the user base and change them to the old style. There's an old saying: If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Changing things just for for the sake of change doesn't always produce a welcomed result and surely this is the case now.

@Microsoft, we're months into this thing and I still cringe everytime I want to add an emoji. There are countless feature requests to vote for a return to the old emoji set, and literally 175 replies to this one thread (and there are others). It's overdue.

Although "cringe" is technically an emotion also, I think the goal of having emojis is to convey a wider variety of emotions than just this one.

100% agree with the comment "Teams - Revert to Classic Emojis". I work for a large Government agency and the majority of users refrain from using the new emojis because of their appearance and unprofessional look.
