Teams - Revert to Classic Emojis

Greetings!

Microsoft Teams recently rolled out the Microsoft Fluent emoji style in Teams. This change altered all emojis and reactions across the platform and made them look incredibly displeasurable and unusual. In a business environment, I would venture to say the updated emojis are unusable due to the fact that they are so silly (for lack of a better word). I have thus far been unable to revert the emojis back to the way they were before this update; however, I would like to do this, as would my team. Is there any way to revert the emojis back to the way they were before this Microsoft Fluent emoji style update?

Thanks for any insight!

The new emojis are absolutly horrible! I hate them and want "normal" emojis back. I will not use the new ones. Instead i will use text descriptions like "hadbangonthewall"

Instead of "inventing" such useless things, Microsoft should take care about functionality! (e.g. I want to see the status of a contact before i click on "call")

I agree wholeheartedly with everyone here that the new emoji are not fit for purpose and have been adding my vote and comments to as many feedback posts as I can find.

As an interim solution, you should still be able to use the built-in Windows 10 emoji keyboard. To bring up the built-in emoji keyboard, use the keyboard short cut Windows Key + .

That is, Windows Key + period (that period is part of the shortcut and not a sentence ender).

For example, here is an emoji written with the Windows Key + . shortcut: 😎

The same emoji looks like this now in Teams (actually one of the less unpleasant looking ones - I couldn't bring myself to post an uglier one):

    😎

They may not be as good as the old 2D Teams emojis but are much better than the new 3D ones.

I refuse to use anything by the thumbs up, now. These are creepy looking emojis.

I completely agree. These are creepy looking emojis and I will no longer use anything other than the thumbs up. I am glad that you and others are being vocal about it. Microsoft has better things to spend their time and our money on other than reinventing emojis that were previously fine. I am hoping they will revert all emojis to the original version.
