Teams - Revert to Classic Emojis

Greetings!

Microsoft Teams recently rolled out the Microsoft Fluent emoji style in Teams. This change altered all emojis and reactions across the platform and made them look incredibly displeasurable and unusual. In a business environment, I would venture to say the updated emojis are unusable due to the fact that they are so silly (for lack of a better word). I have thus far been unable to revert the emojis back to the way they were before this update; however, I would like to do this, as would my team. Is there any way to revert the emojis back to the way they were before this Microsoft Fluent emoji style update?

    I respectfully disagree 100% with Lyndon here.

    Change is expensive. But sunk cost is a fallacy. The fact that a change has resulted is such a backlash should be heard by Microsoft.

    A data point of one person saying they are bad is a subjective opinion. A preponderance of similar opinions, even if they are "vitriol" or negative, has merit for any company who provides products or services. We are not subjects, we are customers. Our opinions should matter.

    I realize this may seem a subtle point, but "we like Teams but hate the emojis" is exactly the message we are trying to convey to Microsoft Teams' product folks. And, let's be clear, hate is the correct term. Moderate dislike does not result in this kind of feedback. Someone truly messed up at Microsoft and we need to keep making them constantly aware until this changes.

    This should not be a personalization option (ie., I get to choose "classic emojis" but others may choose the new ones). That means I can't rely on what I'm communicating reaching the other person in the same way as intended. No. This needs to be a 100% U turn away from these monstrosities.

    I love working with Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Visio, Stream and Teams.

    I, too, in my personal life, vote with my dollars. In this case, Teams is my preferred platform. As far as their ideology, (thank you for the link), I think the simple emojis accomplished playfulness in the first place and that they wasted their money on this new version which is hard to decipher if you wear reading glasses and the mouths look bloody.

    I have not contributed any anger in this feed and haven't read much of that, but I haven't been keeping up with the latest comments.

    If they collect any stats on the number of times an emoji is used, I am guessing they will find a significant decrease. I just ignore them now.

    I also do not like the new emojis. They depress me and I don't enjoy using them anymore. It's like switching from coke to diet coke. Blah.

    I guess I'm wondering why Microsoft would change emojis to appeal to kindergarteners rather than adults who use this tool for work.

    They are not professional and I can't figure out why they did this. Microsoft should at least let users flip back to the prior emojis.
