MS Teams Helper using up >100% of CPU MacBook

Since the latest update of MS Teams (current version 1.3.00.9271 updated on 07/05/20) on a MacBook (early 2015), every time I now join a Teams call, the Microsoft Teams Helper is using >100% of CPU and causing the laptop to overheat. I have disabled the GPU acceleration as seen on some other message boards but this has no impact, and could do with a fix for this ASAP.

Many thanks in advance.

Dave, while we all wait for a resolution (or even a response), I tried using the browser-based Teams and it was much better as far as resources and fan are concerned. iMac w/Quad-Core intel i7, 32GB RAM, AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4GB GPU.

Remarkable that there is still no solution. I'm considering doing all of my Teams calls from my iPad.

The Mac app just received a significant update this week, but this new version seems to be even more resource intensive than the last one.

Does that mean that the CPU Usage issue is still there?
