Since the latest update of MS Teams (current version 1.3.00.9271 updated on 07/05/20) on a MacBook (early 2015), every time I now join a Teams call, the Microsoft Teams Helper is using >100% of CPU and causing the laptop to overheat. I have disabled the GPU acceleration as seen on some other message boards but this has no impact, and could do with a fix for this ASAP.

It has no effect in my case.
I installed turbo boos switcher to disable turbo boos. Now it's less hot and noisy as before but the application still grabs 100% of the CPU.
I saw no performance issues with Teams, but its more random I think. Mine never sees 100% now, but its still pretty high; enough for me to use the browser teams instead :\

Same here. Instead of using the desktop version, I use the browser version. Unfortunately this ons has less features. I sometimes have to switch. I also installed Turbo Boost Switcher to switch off the Turbo Boost. Doesn't really help a lot.
I think it is quite embarrassing for Microsoft and Apple that both of them are just not able to get this annoying issue fixed. To be honest, I really start to hate it as I need to use MS-Teams about the entire day....
Is Turbo Boost Switcher worth using? And yeah, I use Teams literally ALL day for my job. We have 1100 employees in the company and I manage two of the internal applications so my Teams never shuts up. I’ll let you know if I can find something that no one on the internet has haha. Good luck with that.
Yes it's worth using in the sense that it will stop Teams from completely melting your Mac. But it's not a solution, the problem remains, Teams will still occupy close to 100% of the (non boosted) CPU.
I have a feeling nobody at MS is looking at this. How can we attract them to this topic ? Can someone raise a complaint/ticket with their help desk or i don't know.
