MS Teams Helper using up >100% of CPU MacBook

Since the latest update of MS Teams (current version 1.3.00.9271 updated on 07/05/20) on a MacBook (early 2015), every time I now join a Teams call, the Microsoft Teams Helper is using >100% of CPU and causing the laptop to overheat. I have disabled the GPU acceleration as seen on some other message boards but this has no impact, and could do with a fix for this ASAP.

    Apologies in advance for the me too nature of this reply.

    I'm facing similar issues of a MackBook Pro 13'' 2020 that is well speced: Microsoft Teams Helper grabs the %CPU and also %GPU. So I'm afraid it's taxing the laptop both way thus pushing fans to go full speed.

    This translates into an awful user experience and taking into account that MS Teams is used in my organisation as the corporate tool for communications it reflects poorly on Microsoft and their comms solution.

    Hoping for a fix in the near future.

    My mac is on fire every time I use MSTeams for call.

    Looking for an update to this issue with Teams and MacBooks. My 2020 MacBook Pro heats up in Teams meetings (even the web version, not just the app) and has shut down my Internet connection.

    Also have same issue using Teams on a decent spec macbook pro - fans kick in every time I video call

    Having this problem anytime I use video on a call. I have to turn off incoming video; even then the Teams Helper process runs at 30% CPU (which means 30% across 4 cores on my Retina MacBook Pro), and occassioanly spikes to 50% CPU and runs the fans at top speed.

    In general I can only run Teams with normal machine loading by turning off incoming video and disabling the camera.
