MS Teams Helper using up >100% of CPU MacBook

Since the latest update of MS Teams (current version 1.3.00.9271 updated on 07/05/20) on a MacBook (early 2015), every time I now join a Teams call, the Microsoft Teams Helper is using >100% of CPU and causing the laptop to overheat. I have disabled the GPU acceleration as seen on some other message boards but this has no impact, and could do with a fix for this ASAP.

Many thanks in advance.

That's interesting. I'm running a newer version updated two days ago. "You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.21753. It was last updated on 8/11/20."

Wonder why yours was updated more recently but is older?

What a mess. I'll post an update when I've had time to observe performance on my four different Mac workstations.

This problem is driving me crazy. Seems worse than it used to be. Any video call I take part off on MS Teams makes my fans kick on to be super loud and my microphone picks it up. Would love to see a fix for this.

Does that mean that the CPU Usage issue is still there?

The Mac app just received a significant update this week, but this new version seems to be even more resource intensive than the last one.
