Since the latest update of MS Teams (current version 1.3.00.9271 updated on 07/05/20) on a MacBook (early 2015), every time I now join a Teams call, the Microsoft Teams Helper is using >100% of CPU and causing the laptop to overheat. I have disabled the GPU acceleration as seen on some other message boards but this has no impact, and could do with a fix for this ASAP.
Many thanks in advance.

I've been having the same issue for months and today I think it's finally resolved! :)
It might be a workaround only but I've just tuned off GPU hardware acceleration on Teams and now I am using it incredibly smooth on Macbook Pro 2017 Big Sur (11.2.2). No side effects and CPU/memory usage down to normal.
How to disable GPU hardware acceleration and animations.
Be happy!
Hi,
It's almost a year later and this is still a serious problem. I'm finding the Renderer Helper is using up to 120% of CPU!
Has more progress been made on this?
Thanks,
Brandon
NO, I Reset my macbook and now I not install Teams. I wait that this problem will resolve.

It's like: My Chevy engine is overheating. The Chevy customer service says "Try the bike provided in the trunk"
