MS Teams Helper using up >100% of CPU MacBook

Since the latest update of MS Teams (current version 1.3.00.9271 updated on 07/05/20) on a MacBook (early 2015), every time I now join a Teams call, the Microsoft Teams Helper is using >100% of CPU and causing the laptop to overheat. I have disabled the GPU acceleration as seen on some other message boards but this has no impact, and could do with a fix for this ASAP.

Many thanks in advance.

I think the answer is to switch to Zoom, or buy a window$ laptop :)

Ive noticed this too, Teams performance is poor, video laggy and poor quality and yet its hogging 65-85% of my CPU.

    Not sure M$oft care tbh

is it possible to get that version downloaded?

it seems the difference is the abiltiy to use the virtual background, which I don't need.

Sometime over Christmas / New Year I feel the situation has been improved. Currently running Teams 1.3.00.24758 and it's consuming about 60% CPU for a videocall which is not as good as Zoom, but better than before when it would bring my entire system to a crawl.

Only fix is to not use a Mac.

There are 2 User Voice feedback items running on Teams poor performance for the last 2 years. Its unlikely to be fixed after that period of time. Only suggestion is to use a windows PC instead unfortunately.
