Hi,
When I get a link in an e-mail on my Mac (using outlook as e-mail client), neither Safari nor Chrome recognize that I have the desktop app installed and I can only view using the web app. Any ideas on how to solve this? My IT department is no help on this. I have reinstalled Teams multiple times, rebooted, etc.

As a workaround, you could use Finicky to send team links to Teams: https://github.com/johnste/finicky
I do believe it is in part due to Apple's restrictions and MS poor programming.
I get a message in the Developer's console saying "Ignoring request to load this main resource because it has a custom protocol and comes from a sandboxed iframe" when I click open in Teams App on the Safari webpage that appears when I click any meeting invitation link. As noted previously, this used to work previously before upgrading to the latest version of Teams and macOS 12.3.1.
It would be really terrific if someone from Microsoft would actually RESPOND to this. A bunch of "me too" posts are a waste of my time and attention. I believe this is being caused by some global default setting in macOS, but I don't know yet where to look. If I figure it out, I will post the solution here.
Agree - disabling Prevent Cross Site Scripting had been working, but after I posted that above I realized it's no longer working, so guessing it is something that happened with Monterey upgrade but not sure
