No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

Has the Microsoft support team members provided a recommended solution to this common problem?  I noticed they bailed on the conversation when their proposed solutions (external to Microsoft) did not provide any help.  Very clearly an internal Teams issue as many people are experiencing the same symptoms....no Teams audio but external audio is working.

Just had a call on team with 2 other users.. 2 of us can hear each other well. But we cannot hear the 3rd person.

A lot of time wasted trying to figure out why we cant hear the 3rd person.

Dumped Team for SKype and everything worked well...

This is really a Team issue... since Skype worked well...

I have the same issue, there is no problem with my drivers or the version of teams that I am using but I am unable to hear my instructors when I use the teams app. It advertises a better user experience to use the app, but I always have to end up switching to the web version because that is the only place where the audio works. Very disappointed in the advertisement of a better user experience when all it does is cause more problems. Also disappointed in Microsoft for taking almost a year to solve this problem with no solution still

    Hello,

I have the same problem with HP Elitebook internal speakers. It is the Realtek drivers.

Our IT department made a re-install of all audio related drivers and after that it worked for some time.

But now it is back again. The builtin speakers are completely dead, not only in Teams.

All volume indicators available within Windows and also the B&O app shows that audio is streaming, but there is no sound coming out.

The headphone jack is working and external USB speakers works to, but if I forget headphones I cant' use Teams (or any other Audio app)

I strongly suspect that it is Teams that is doing this.
