Many of the members of our Team have a "GIF" button along with the emoji and format buttons, but I have never had the ability to add gifs to my chats. I have no idea why this would be happening.

I'm a global admin for my company and couldn't figure out why I didn't have giphy on my teams, despite having the authority to give myself the permission.

while it is possible it's disabled by either an org admin or just the team owner, I found that the icon will also disappear if "optional connected experiences" is not enabled, under privacy in settings.

If you don't see the gif option both on the desktop app and browser then it means the team owner has disabled the gif option feature. Could you please reach out to your team owner to double-check this issue?
