Hi GeorgeRoberson,

Since reinstall Teams can temporarily fix this issue, you can try to sign out and kill Teams from Task Manager to see how it goes.

If the problem persists, you can try to clear Teams cache to see if it can help:

1.  Fully exit the Microsoft Teams desktop client. You can right click Teams from the Icon Tray and select ‘Quit’ or run Task Manager and fully kill the process.

2.  Go to File Explorer, and type in %appdata%\Microsoft\teams.

3.  Once in the directory, you’ll see a few of the following folders:

========================================================

 a.  From within ‘Application Cache’, go to Cache and delete any of the files in the Cache location.

    *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache

 b.  From within ‘Blob_storage’, delete any files that are located in here if any.

    *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage

 c.  From within ‘Cache’, delete all files.

    *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache

 d.  From within ‘databases’, delete all files.

    *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases

 e.  From within ‘GPUCache’, delete all files.

    *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache

 f.  From within ‘IndexedDB’, delete the .db file.

    *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB

 g.  From within ‘Local Storage’, delete all files.

    *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage

 h.  Lastly, from within ‘tmp’, delete any file.

*   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp

====================================================

Once the cleanup is finally completed, you can now restart Teams and check the results.

Best Regards,

Sylvie

    So.... after working with Microsoft support yesterday a few times and over two hours, they finally gave me this service outage alert. It started on June 4, 2024. Doesn't explain too much, but does mention "Add a member to a team" and what I was given why it is not working right now.

    Some users may be unable to perform multiple functions in Microsoft Teams

    Issue ID: TM801268

    Status: Service degradation

    Start time: Jun 4, 2024, 9:00 PM EDT

    User impact

    Users may be unable to perform multiple functions in Microsoft Teams.

    Impact isn't client specific and may occur on the new and classic Microsoft Teams clients.

    Affected users may be unable to perform the following scenarios in Microsoft Teams:

    • Create a team from an existing group.
    • Add a member to a team.
    • Create a team or channel from a template.
    • Duplicate a team.
    • Archive and unarchive a team or channel.
    • Share a channel with a team.
    • Delete team will not delete all channels in a team.
    • Newly created teams from Graph will not have members added.
    • Clone a team. - Restore channels in a team.
    • Members won't be auto synced between groups and teams.

    Scope of impact

    This issue may impact some users performing one of the Microsoft Teams actions outlined in the More info section.

    Root cause

    An update affected a portion of infrastructure that processes various Microsoft Teams actions, as outlined in the above in the "More info" section, which caused processing delays and a subsequent backlog.

    Updates

    Jun 28, 2024, 2:27 PM EDT
    Our operation to process the backlog of requests is in its final stages, and the majority of delayed requests are now processed; however, the final stage of the operation is taking longer than expected. We're investigating the remaining requests to identify whether the delay is the result of a service issue and to assist us in expediting remediation.

    So I filled out a support ticket on our Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Support contacted me and they actually remote controlled into my computer and I was remote controlled into our clients guest computer. The support person worked with us for just over an hour to no success. We deleted the account, re-added the account and tried all kinds of things. We ended up capturing the Edge logs which I sent over to the support engineer who said he will get back to me. So, the timer is ticking to see what response I receive. I can say we did check a lot of settings as well in my tenant console to confirm everything was open for Teams guest to join.

    I think MS might be more responsive to twitter rather than this forum.

    Firstly, MS does not care about these issues, you'll notice this thread started more than 4 years ago, and the situation has only got worse.

    I also spoke to a MS core "expert" and explained that (particularly post covid), we had a computer used for work, and for personal, and for school, and that perhaps windows was under a personal account, and then MS 365 was a personal subscription, but also wanted to access work things... and was just told "oh, no, that won't work at all.... everything has to be under the same account, you'll need one computer for each...." (not even one login for each, one computer!)

    It's a complete mess, and when you add the skype accounts that weren't integrated, so you can't reuse that email address, you might have to set up two personal email addresses as well!! (and other one for being a family manager), so 3 addresses, and 3 computers to use the wonderful MS suite of tools in our lives....
