Calendar missing in MS TEAMS

Hi There,

i find that the calendar tab(on the left panel) in teams is missing. on little research found that this calendar is picked up from OWP. i was surprised to see that i was not having outlook icon when i log into portal.office.com. when i try to access the link http://outlook.office365.com/owa it gives me a license error.

please let know how can we get this issue fixed. i need of urgent help.

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

Regarding to the problem that the calendar tab is missing, there is a chance that someone changed the related policy. To check it, please contact Office 365 administrator to go to Microsoft Teams admin center and then follow the steps below:

1.  Sign into Microsoft Teams admin center as an Office 365 administrator.

2.  Click Users in the left pane and then select your account.

3.  In your account information page, click Policy and select the policy under App setup policy.

4.  In Pinned apps section, please check whether Calendar is in the list. If not, click Add apps to add Calendar into the list.

If the issue still persists, please provide the following information to me for further assistance:

  1.  Please confirm with other users whether they encountered the same problem.

2.  Please provide the screenshot of this issue to me.

3.  Whether the Calendar shows up in Teams Web App?

4.  Since you mentioned that you got license error when sign into Outlook Web App, please try this link in InPrivate/incognito mode and check whether you can sign in: https://outlook.office365.com. If you still get error, please share the screenshot of the error with me and I will do my best to help you.

    I can't speak to other mail clients or web interfaces - because I don't know what Teams offers with regard to plug-ins there.

    I do know that for "full calendar functionality" you do have to have Microsoft Exchange - either 2016cu3 or later on-premise or Online through 365.

    The Active Directory thing I showed is really just "Telling Teams you have 365 - even though you really don't" - but even that will require Active Directory.

    I understand that you don't - but since we're being 'informational' here, If you did have Outlook, Teams installs a plug-in that gives you a link to create a scheduled Teams meeting from your Outlook Calendar.  

    This creates the meeting and allows you to send out invitations, etc.

    The logic seems simple enough to figure out in order to use a different calendar, I have just never had the need (or frankly, the desire) to try - and as I understand it, Microsoft has really only relatively recently given the tool for Outlook, so i wouldn't hold my breath that its already out there for other calendars.

    The Free licenses of Teams that Microsoft is doing are "Full Featured" - but Teams itself can't leverage many of its features without a fairly full cast of supporting actors, since all Teams really does is present a couple new tools and a whole bunch of links to other Microsoft Online products (some of which have been ported to on-premise tools, but in a fairly shoddy and lazy manner).

    Honestly, I find it kind of underhanded that MS is giving Teams away free right now - since full functionality requires so much from Microsoft that you have to pay for.  It feels dirty, like they are leveraging this pandemic as a sales tool.

    Clearly, I've slipped some personal opinion in here.  Obviously, I am not a Microsoft Employee and I don't have visibility into the realities of their thinking, but I've been around since MSDOS 3.0, and... well,...

    I am testing out the Free Teams.   Does it include the Teams Live option?   After downloading the app to my desktop, I noticed that the calendar option is missing.   I do NOT have an O365 subscription, nor do I have Outlook installed.    I am having trouble understanding how to schedule a video meeting using the free Teams option?   Is outlook or some other app required in order for the free teams to have functionality?

    What do you mean with Live option? Live Events? No, because in order to do a Live Event you need to Schedule a meeting, and you has not a calendar to do that in free Teams.

    About point 3) I know there is a Meet Now in Chat and Teams sections, I tested them. But they have not the same behavior as the Meet Now of Calendar Section. the 3 of them are differents. The one that is in Chat section, allows you to meet with someone you have chat before or you can add, if you want to send a meeting link to a new person that you never chat before, you can do that. The one that is in Teams section, it Works for new external person, but, is not full functional, the chat option in there say that you have to be a Team member in order to see the chat, so the only option is to convert the external user to a guest user. And the 3rd one, the one that is in Calendar section, is the only one that Works for external people giving you a full functional meeting.

    I give you more information about my situation:

    My customer use Gmail from the web, they do not use Outlook yet, and they do not have a Windows Domain, all their computers belongs to a workgroup.

    Is a company that use Google products, and wanted to use Zoom for virtual meetings, that now are starting to use MS Teams.
