I updated to MacOS Catalina and now I cannot share my app screens. I can share my desktop, but that is all others can see.

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.
I am experiencing the same exactly issue but I do not have Microsoft To Do installed so that is obviously not the culprit. I'll try your suggestion in closing other apps and report back.

I have the same issue. I'm on Mac Catalina v 10.15.1.
I use Teams all the time and as of this morning can no longer do screen sharing no matter how many times I grant the right privilege and close down all other Apps.
Sort this out MS - this is a terrible display of poor release testing!
Following the ToDo advice (which I didn't had installed) I closed also teamviewer and it worked....
Maybe this has to do with several screen sharing / recording apps
Have you tried uninstalling teams and reinstalling? This was a clean and quick resolution for me.
