I updated to MacOS Catalina and now I cannot share my app screens. I can share my desktop, but that is all others can see.

Found it.

System Preferences

Security & Privacy

Privacy

Screen Recording

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.

There is a work around that is working for me. You can maximize the screen (green button) and then try it again.

    Hope it works for you

    macOS version: 10.15.2

Microsoft Teams for Mac version: "You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.2.00.28258. It was last updated on 12/18/19."

I just started having this issue after the latest Microsoft Teams for Mac update (today). Yesterday, I could share screens in Teams no problem. Today, when I attempt to share, I get a message saying "We need permission to share your screen. Go to Security & Privacy >

Screen Recording to give permission and start sharing." However, I have granted that permission to Microsoft Teams, and I still cannot share for the same reason. Unchecking and rechecking the permissions box and rebooting my computer does not resolve the issue. I am wondering if the update pushed today caused the issue.

Is there any moment on this??? This is really impacting business.

    Hi

I found an interesting workaround -

If my teams is windowed then I always get the following

"We need permission to share your screen Go to Security & Privacy"

But in full screen mode, it appears to work.

same session - just go to full screen and it works, go back to windowed mode and it stops working...

    Exactly opposite solution for me.

Screen sharing didnt work when in full screen but in 'window' mode it enables.

    Thank you a lot!!

I had the same issue.  I was using Teams fine, then upgraded to Catalina and it stopped.  We're running in Hybrid AD mode.

I checked the Security Preferences as everyone is prompted, but it didn't work even after rebooting the MBP.  However, finally it mysteriously started working a week later after rebooting again after some MBP crashes, but not sure if that is related.

I still have an issue with granting other users permission to remotely control my MBP screen, but I was to control theirs.
