I updated to MacOS Catalina and now I cannot share my app screens. I can share my desktop, but that is all others can see.

Found it.

Screen Recording

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.

Alex, as of the last few posts, many users are saying that this is a problem with Apple and how they are handling in the OS rather than a Microsoft Error. You may want to visit some of the last few posts to this thread.

    Hi Orin,

    thx much for the reply.

i did see the comments about this being related to Apple, however, im wondering if Microsoft has reached out to Apple engineers about this.  after reviewing some other forums online, other vendors who have had similar issues appear to have resolved them with an update.

Has Microsoft made any official statements regarding this issue?  if they feel this is caused by Apple, wouldnt it make sense for them to post something official about it so we dont have keep scouring the web for answers?  this has been ongoing since October 2019 (i think).

Same issue as everybody else, please, no solutions yet?

I've tried everything, closing, rebooting, uncheck, check again, reinstalling, etc, etc.

Mac OS Catalina Version 10.15 (19A603)

Microsoft Teams Version 1.2.00.34155. It was last updated on 12/13/19.

Hi All, followed the various "fixes" (including the most recent ones with the folder removal and re-install) and i still have the same issue.  Whenever i try to share i get the "permissions" message and it still doesnt work with the Teams app selected under Screen Recording.  All of us here are extremely frustrated as this is a big part of our daily job.

im assuming nothing from Microsoft as of yet?
