I updated to MacOS Catalina and now I cannot share my app screens. I can share my desktop, but that is all others can see.

Found it.

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.

    Hi,

I am now on Big Sur 11.1 and the issue about sharing screens is still there. Was exactly the same when I was on Catalina.

In general I simply need to share a Word or Excel document.

The only work around that works for me is is to drag the app (Word or Excel) with the document open  in the same Team desktop. At that point click on share and finally I can share it. However, at that point the document I am sharing moves in a different desktop and I can see only the document (no video of the people attending). For the time being this "survival mode" works but I hope a fix will be released one of these days.

    I hope this helps others..

I see the MS beta program doesn't include an updated version for Team. I wonder if this will be never fixed.

It seems that the web app is the best option to fix this. I had a co-worker running macOS Catalina and the share would not work on the desktop or Office 365 teams app. A work around we used: Downloaded Teams from the AppStore. Logged in with the work account we gave her. She then sends meeting proposals from the phone app to include her personal email and others. She has everyone join from the lobby through the phone. She mutes her phone and continues the meeting on her Apple laptop (though her personal gmail account) which, since she joined via the web app, allows her to share screens.

In my case I re-enabled the new meeting experience and I am still able to share my screen.   I'm curious if that works for you as well.

It worked until the users restarted their machines, then it broke again.
